Who at the moment are running away with the league title. You would be forgiven for thinking Liverpool would tighten up the purse after Diaz’s fee is reported to be €45 million plus €15 million plus add ons, but Ward has gone on to agree a fee for Fabio Carvalho, the teenage Fulham sensation. The fee was understood to be $8 million, but unfortunately the players personal terms couldn't be completed before the window shut and the deal then collapsed. The intent is there though.
Liverpool know they need to add depth to compete with the likes of [Manchester] City, Chelsea, and [Manchester] United, but Klopp won't let the club spend needlessly. Competition for places and depth is now what Liverpool must look to invest in to make it to the next level and have a consistent future as a top tier club. We are watching the current campaign prove this.
The question right now will be if Diaz will be able to make an immediate impact. With the EPL ( English Premier League) title race fairly lopsided Liverpool will hope the addition will help close the gap on table leading Manchester city, as well as help the rest of the team push for silverware on three open fronts. With the rest of the squad hitting stride and their African trio getting back from AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) anything is possible for this squad as they push into the final third of the season.
